The Fourth Warsaw Conference for Young Jewish Studies Researchers

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

the members of the Organizing Committee of  the 4th Warsaw Conference for Young Jewish Studies Researchers would like to thank:

the sponsors

the media patronage

the partners

for the help with organizing

the 4th Warsaw Conference for Young Jewish Studies Researchers

that took place in Warsaw in the Institute of History of Warsaw University

14th-16th June 2011

We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the success of the conference. We are  grateful for the support of the employees and the authorities of the Institute of History of Warsaw University, especially Professor Maria Koczerska, the director of the Institute of History and Doctor Jolanta Żyndul, the head of the Anielewicz Center for the Study and Teaching of  History and Culture of Jews in Poland. We appreciate the help of Michael Schudrich, the Chief Rabbi of Poland, as well as the support of the representatives of cooperating institutions and assistance of the moderators. Thanks to the collaboration of all the mentioned institutions and individuals we managed to continue the tradition of Warsaw Jewish studies conferences.

The financial support of our sponsors enabled us to create the possibility of intellectual exchange and professional academic debate. The conference was also a space where young researchers could socialize and create new friendships and contacts. The financial help of our sponsors has covered mainly the costs of printing the conference materials such as bulletins and posters, as well as the costs of the meals.

The conference turned out to be very successful. Around 100 researchers have gathered in Warsaw, presenting their papers in 37 panels. The conference was bilingual. More than 30 participants came from abroad, mainly from European academic institutions. Some arrived from Israel and North America.

We were impressed that the conference have attracted  such a numerous public. Thanks to the support of our media patronage the information about the conference was well-spread, also in non-academic circles. The discussions conducted after the panels would be surely beneficial for the future academic endaveours of the participants.

We hope that in 2013 our younger colleagues, responsible for the organization of the 5th Warsaw Conference for Young Jewish Studies Researchers will meet with eaqual support.

Best regards
